Ideate

During the ideation step, I identify the optimal way to structure new designs. I prefer to conduct this step as objectively as possible using proven UX methodologies. There are a variety of UX methods I use to identify the structure of the design. This is largely decided by the medium I’m designing for and the project requirements. Depending on these parameters I identify the most efficient and most engaging way to layout and structure designs so that users can accomplish their goals and so the business can succeed.

Methods Previously Used = Journey Mapping, Story Mapping, Site Mapping, User Flows, Design Workshop

User Journey Mapping

At Clearview Live, I created a user journey map based on research conducted by our UX research team. Using this journey map, I identified the steps it would take for our users to sign up and use the platform. From this process, I was able to identify a better onboarding system for gamification, ultimately increasing user adoption and engagement within the platform.

User Flows

For our clients at BeBalanced we illustrated the steps from start to finish for a customer trying to identify whether or not BeBalanced’s weight loss solution is right for them. These user flows became the foundation for what eventually emerged as a survey for customers that would assess their propensity for weight loss with hormonal supplements. This personalized survey was key for BeBalanced, it helped them increase user form submissions and user adoption rates.

Design Workshops

At Clearview Live, we conducted a Lean UX inspired design workshop to quickly iterate and brainstorm potential solutions for a new gamification admin dashboard. Everyone presented their solutions and then the team voted on which ones they felt would be the most effective. These early sketches provided the foundation for the gamification dashboard redesign as seen in my Clearview Live case study.
